Green Speed is More Than a Number

This session will discuss data collected on green speed and the dispersionofgolfballsastheyrollacrossaputtinggreen. Consideringtheanalysismadeofthedataisnotsomuchaboutthe exactmeasurements,ortheaverageofthemeasurements,butmore aboutthevariationinthemeasurements.Whatisnormalvariationif youmeasuregreenspeedatlocationXongreen1andthenmoveto locationYongreen1?Isthespeedidentical?Whatifitvariesby7 inches,isthatnormal,oristhatunusual?Whatisthenormal variationingreenspeedfromall19or20greensatan18hole facility? What is abnormal variation? And what is normal dispersion of ball roll across a green? What is abnormal dispersion?
