Deputy Course Manager
Parkstone Golf Club is one of the premier golf courses on the South coast of England and is currently ranked in Golf Monthlyâs Top 100 in UK&I. Initially designed by Willie Park Junior, in 1909, and then subsequently altered by James Braid, the classic combination of rolling heathland and mature pine is a designated SSSI.
This private membersâ Club has recently agreed an exciting five year plan which includes drainage installation, large-scale hole renovation, new teeing grounds and redevelopment of the putting green. Parkstone will host the European Ladiesâ Amateur Championship in 2019.
The Deputy Course Manager is responsible for supervising and motivating the greenkeeping team to produce the highest standards of presentation across all playing surfaces.
The successful candidate will have an extensive range of skills and, as a minimum, have the following key qualities:
- Previous experience managing and motivating greenkeeping teams.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Sports Turf Management.
- A comprehensive knowledge of fertiliser/pesticide use and application
- Spraying certification (PA1, 2 & 6).
- Experience in planning and delegating work programmes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High standards and consistent attention to detail.
