Job Description

V Golf Club is looking to employ an enthusiastic, highly motivated and ‘hands-on’ Head Greenkeeper, with a solid track record of people management and of their development, to lead their team of dedicated greens staff and enhance the reputation and status of both the golf course and the club itself.

The successful candidate will be confident and knowledgeable about the game, be able to build relationships and lines of communication with staff, members and Club management.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record of high standard golf course presentation.

Reporting to: Director of Golf

Vilnius Grand Resort is one of the top luxurious hotels in the Baltic States. Overlooking two scenic lakes, Vilnius Grand Resort lies amidst 670 acres of lush, rolling countryside, and is only a few minutes drive from the centre of the capital. The resort is surrounded by our magnificent 18-hole championship golf course which weaves among beautiful lakes and spectacular silver birch trees and pine forests.

The Role

The Head Greenkeeper will, amongst other things:

• Be entrusted with the daily maintenance, operations and management of the golf course in accordance with Club Policies.
• Possess a wealth of technical greenkeeping and agronomy skills together with impeccable standards of course preparation and a keen eye for presentation and detail.
• Manage financial resources including control of budgets and management of stock levels throughout the season.

Experience

Your experience should be commensurate with the role; however the following are considered essential:

• A minimum of 5 years Head Greenkeeper experience.
• A thorough understanding of the day to day requirements of a golf maintenance team as well as having played an active role in strategic planning of golf course maintenance.
• Professional qualifications suitable for this senior position, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent, including spraying and certificates for agronomy practices.
• IT skills particular to the greenkeeping industry.
• Mechanical and maintenance skills would be highly advantageous but not essential.
• A keen interest in the game of golf.

Salary commensurate with experience.
