Handsworth Golf Club is a well-established, private 18 hole parkland course located only three miles from Birmingham City Centre. Widely acknowledged as a hidden gem, this Colt designed course, first established in 1895, is rich in history and reputation.
Reporting to the Course Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and motivating the team, while producing and maintaining the highest standards of course presentation to meet the expectations of members and visitors alike.
We require an experienced, hardworking, reliable and motivated individual that has the following skills and attributes:
- Proven ability to motivate, lead, develop and mentor others
- Experienced and skilled in all practical and technical facets of greenkeeping
- At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (or above)
- PA 1, 2 and 6 spraying certificates
- NPTC Chainsaw qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Knowledge of up to date health and safety legislation
- IT literate
- Knowledge of irrigation operation/repair/maintenance
- Have a good understanding of the game of golf and associated rules and etiquette
- Skilled in setting up/maintaining machinery
A competitive salary will be offered and on-site accommodation is available in the form of a 3 bed semi-detached house with garden backing onto a lake. This can be negotiated as part of the remuneration package.
